I have been going through a lot of my old tracks that I made since 03', and found that I've been ignoring some amazing sounds. Due to the limited(free) space from my podcasting service, I have reached a head and can't add any songs. I am(have) created a new name and account to remedy this problem. One Finger Player is the artist name for the new podcasts, which will contain new as well as remixes I did from Nine Inch Nails to Gene Simmons. I'm in the process of putting it up on the itunes music store..

Besides that Programming, Class and Photography have been taking up most of my time! Which is weird in a good way, because i feel as if I could go either way now (Music production, Photography, Web Authoring, Programming, Apple Tech, Writing). At 30, I guess I could be in worst times in my life, lol

Learning How To Read

The ability to be able read a musical composition is a skill that a lot of people dont have. This is not a diss to them as musicians or anything against the strength of their music, but it is a necessary skill to learn. I have embarked on this journal (again)....indirectly, due to a class i'm taking called MACROMUSIC.

Update:I finally got done with Finale, not before being humiliated and belittled in front of the whole class. There's always one asshole that tries to pull your card! But, I didn't give up and beat my way through it and because of it i have a deeper understanding of how music is composed.

Fall Semester 06' Coming to a Close

This has been one the hardest semesters I've ever had since I started going to Cleveland State University. Presentations to Let downs and everything in between. I have advanced mentally and I am also a bonafied 30-something. I have had a lot of struggles, struggles to not give up and go home, struggling not to listen to people pushing me and disrespecting me and struggles with low self-esteem. But through it all I came out swinging and I still havent given up the fight!!!!!!! fuck that shit, I want to do something important with my life and the only way i know how to do that is to keep it moving!!!!!! keep moving forward, even when others dont want to.

I am researching a paper for my African American Literature class and I came across an artist that I find very aesthetically pleasing and very talented but, for some reason or another, had never heard of in high school. Elizabeth Catlett, an African American sculptress and printmaker during the 1960s and 1970s black arts movement. I felt a connection with the images, black artists are treated as jokes in the mainstream, but one looks at these works and the art of suppression comes to mind. I don't think it's suppressed because it sux but because it's showing black people in a positive light and is contrary to popular opinions. Whatever the case, I enjoyed the images and am planning looking into the black arts movement even deeper now for guidance!

I finally have another mac in my grasp. It's been soooo long since i had one to call my own, it seems like a eternity (it's been about 2 and 1/2 months). I just bought a emac from a nice fellow by the name of Brad Taylor from Alamaba. It's a G4 (I really wanted one of the new intel-based computers, but oh well, maybe next time :) ) 1.25 Ghz, w/256MBs of Memory, 40Gig Hd and Airport Exterme Card and Combo drive came with it. Even with 256MBs of memory it screams pass any other system I ever own (i know that's sad :( ). I plan on maxing it out with 1 gig of memory in the coming weeks. I can actually make music on a mac again......I've been using my wife's PC when I really felt the itch to create music but it's not the same. Hell, even garbageband 2 is a site for sore eyes.

The Apple Student Gallery is a wonderful place for college, university, K-12, private or even home school students to share ideas and present media. Whether it be, Photography, Music, Movies, Animation or Presentations. I am interested in everything apple, so when I found out about the website this morning I had to check it out! I am a media artists/creator/troubleshooter so I immediately thought out the exposure aspect. And being on apple's website couldn't be a bad place to set-up shop(for free)!

I already have an apple id so logging in was pretty easy. Loading media is a three step process which takes about five minutes...

Step 1 Upload Media

Step 2 Fill in Media Info

You even get an option to podcast your media!

Step 3 Upload Media Thumbnail...Done

A review of the material by apple is required. Similar to the process of submitting podcasts in the iTunes Music Store.

I just uploaded my files today, so it may be a while before i can share or recieve feedback on my media. I will update this site with future info...

Working in Quicktime Virtual Reality links to my blog has been a difficult task. I am a college student with no budget, so "free" is usually a good thing. But, I found out the hard way that, there are always strings attached. When I intially set up these links I needed a"No Cost Solution". Savefile may seem like a good place to store files on the net, but dont be fouled, the word "free". I recently signed up for a Savefile account, as a way to store my files on a independent server so i could call up the files as links on my blog. It seem like a good idea until i started getting email messages like this one...
